C. Inspections.
(1) Visual Examnination. Samples taken in accordance with paragraph 4.B.1 shall be examined to verify that the superficial product characteristics are in compliance with section 1.
(2) Dimensional Examination. Samples are taken in accordance with paragraph 4.B.2 shall be examined to verify that all dimensionally measurable product requirements are in compliance with section 1.
(3) Tests. Samples are taken in accordance with paragraph 4.B.3 shall be subjected to the following tests to demonstrate consistency in product functionality, durability, and performance expectations. The below tests shall be performed only at the beginning of the contract (before the first shipment), and after a design change that affects any functional aspect of the tape dispenser.
(a) Performance Test.
Place in the dispenser, an appropriate commercially used tape, 3 inches wide (+1/32) and a roll diameter of 7 inches (+1/2 inch). The dispenser shall be operated for 2.5 seconds on a random length setting. The total amount of tape dispensed shall be a minimum of 90 inches long. For dispensers without a random length setting, the longest length shall be dispensed at no less than 36 inches per second. Evaluate test against paragraphs 1.D and 1.F.
(b) Length Selection Test.
Immediately following the performance test, the same dispenser shall be set for two different measured lengths and two lengths of tape shall be dispensed for each measured length in alternate order. Tape length shall be accurate plus/minus order. (+) 1/2 inch. Evaluate the test against paragraph 1.C.
(4) Examination for Preparation for Delivery. Samples taken in accordance with paragraph 4.B.4 shall be examined to determined compliance with section 5.
