2.5 The front of the stamp shall be readily identifiable.
2.6 All metal components shall have a commercially acceptable plating or coating suitable to protect against corrosion.
2.7 Each stamp shall produce clear, distinct, sharp, single impressions of equal intensity, with no closing of characters.
2.8 Workmanship. Any fasteners or pins shall be set in accordance with normal commercial practice, including but not limited to exhibiting a firmly tightened, flush seating. The frame (whether metal or plastic) shall be free of defects including, but not limited to burrs, niches, dents, rough or sharp edges, scratches, blisters, crinkling, imbedded foreign matter, discoloration or imperfections which will impair serviceability and adversely affect the appearance or which might constitute a personal hazard to the user. The handle shall be free of defects including, but not limited to rough or sharp edges or corners, splinters, slivers, scratches, discoloration or other defects or imperfections which may affect appearance or may impair serviceability.
3. Regulatory Requirements: The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
4. Quality Assurance Requirements:
4.1 Product Conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description, conform to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance practices and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance.
5. Packaging: Preservation, packing, palletization and marking shall be specified in the contract or order.
