COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
NUMBERING AND LETTERING STAMP
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description by all Federal agencies.
1. Scope. This Commercial Item Description covers non-fixed dating stamps for dating various correspondence, documents and printed material.
2. Salient Characteristics:
2.1 Each stamp shall consist of 2 to 10 endless rubberized fabric bands mounted on a suitable frame. Bands, which consist of a fabric backing with a thin film or rubber of facilitate movement on the drums, shall be considered part of the base.
2.2 Without binding or slipping out of place, each band shall rotate readily and independently on clogged drums by means of a serrated thumbwheel.
2.3 Characters shall be raised in relief by a minimum of 7.92 cm (1/32 inch) from a .159 cm (1/16-inch) minimum thickness base and vulcanized onto the bands.
2.4 The printed height of the characters shall be one of the following, to be specified in the procurement documents:
