PEN, RUBBERIZED BARREL
(RETRACTABLE & STICK/REFILLABLE)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description by all federal agencies.
1. Scope: This Commercial Item Description covers refillable rubberized barrel pens.
2. Classification:

3. Salient Characteristics:
3.1 Type I. Pens shall consist of a round barrel coated with a rubberized type material (or equivalent), plunger with pocket clip, retraction mechanism, plastic or non-corroding metallic nose tip, a point containing a non-corrosive ball and a replaceable ink carriage with a spring attached containing permanent ink. The overall length of this type pen shall be 14.0 cm + 1.3 cm (5.5 + 5 inches). The plunger or clip color shall indicate the color of ink.
3.2 Type II. Pens shall consist of a round barrel coated with a rubberized type material (or equivalent), removable plastic clip cap designed to fit snugly on both ends of the barrel, a point containing a non-corrosive ball and a replaceable ink cartridge containing permanent ink. The overall length of this type pen (without cap) shall be 14.3 cm + 1.3 cm (5.6 inches + .5 inches). The cap, tip or barrel color shall indicate the color of ink. The pens in the following colors: Black, Blue, Red.
