Have a corrosion-resistant fastener which latches the front and cover together.

Contain not less than 15 tabbed, alphabetically indexed ( A thru Z) manila, kraft, or wallet stock partitions which are not less than 2 mm (0.008 inch) thick each. Partitions shall be fastened and reinforced near the back using one or two posts and shall not pull out from the box during normal use.

Have exterior surfaces covered by a dark, wave, or agate marbled moisture-resistant material except for the back which shall have blank spaces for the identification of the box’s contents.

 Have a pull tab made of leather or an equivalent fabric not less than 1.27 mm (0.05”) thick fastened to the back.

Have all corners of the cover reinforced by metal stitches, metal stays, or metal clamps.

Be marked with the name or trade mark of the manufacturer.

Workmanship – The covering material shall be smooth, without rips, blisters, or areas of excessive glue. The box shall be free from any defects which affect appearance or serviceability or may cause injury to the end user.
