4.3.3 Startability. Write a five-letter word with an unused sample marker on a transparency sheet a outlined in paragraph 4.3. Then place marker on its side with cap off for a minimum of fifteen and maximum of thirty minutes. Immediately draw the marker nib across a transparency at a rate of approximately 10.2 cm (4 inches) per second, in increments 20 cm (8 inches) until a solid continuous mark is attained. The marker shall produce a solid continuous mark not less than .38 mm (.015 inch) wide within four strokes.

5.1 Preservation, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
