COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION

DISPENSER, PRESSURE SENSITIVE ADHESIVE TAPE.

(COUNTER TYPE FOR 7.62 CM (3 INCH TAPE))

1. SCOPE.             This commercial item description covers counter top manually operated tape dispensers which are use to dispense pressure-sensitive adhesive tape.

2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:

2.1 Tape dispensers shall be capable off dispensing single or multiple rolls of tape with the following dimensions:

Dispensers that can accommodate tape rolls widths of up to, and including 10.2 cm (4-1/32 inches) shall also be acceptable.

2.2 have a firmly attached, serrated, or corrugated metal blade suitable for manually cutting pressure sensitive type.

2.3 Have a space of at least 1.6 cm (3/8 inch) diameter between a full roll of tape, the dispenser body, and the tape holding platform to allow the extended tape to be easily grasped and detached.

2.4 Have either a revolving reel of sufficient diameter to hold the tape roll securely during operation, or a non-revolving drum which permits the unhindered revolution of the tape roll around it.

2.5 Have a body constructed of a commercially appropriate metal, no less than .8 mm (1/32 inches) thick, or a commercial appropriate plastic capable of meeting the performance requirements of this document.

2.6 Have feet or a rubberized base permanently attached to the bottom of the body to prevent any damage and marring of work surfaces (e.g. wood, glass or metal). Feet/base shall provide lateral stability.
