COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
DISPENSER, PRESSURE-SENSITIVE, ADHESIVE TAPE (HAND-HELD)
1. SCOPE. This description covers manually operated hand-held tape dispensers which are used to dispense pressure-sensitive adhesive tape.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
2.1 Tape dispensers shall be capable of accommodating tape rolls with the following dimension

2.0 cm (25/32 inches) 32.9 m (36 yards) 2.54 + 16,-0 cm (1,+1/16,-0inches)
2.2 Be made of plastic, not less than .8mm (1/32 inch) thick.
2.3 Consist of two separate halves tahat fit together with a friction that when fitted together, essentially enclose the roll of tape. The friction fit shall involve a design-controlled interference that shall facilitate quick access for tape reloading and then maintain a tight enough seal to prevent it from being inadvertently opened in normal use or handling.
2.4 Have a rounded design to fit smoothly in the hand.
2.5 When halves are snapped together, the two shall not miss-match more then one half the thickness of the plastic material at any point.
2.6 Have a firmly attached serrated metal blade suitable for manually cutting pressure-sensitive tape. Blade ends shall be shielded to prevent injury to the user.
2.7 Dispense tape freely without binding against any part of the dispenser body and shall cut without wrinkling and tearing unevenly.
2.8 Be marked in a legible and permanent manner with the manufacturer’s name and/or trademark.
