COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
DISPENSER, PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE TAPE
(FOR FILAMENT-REINFORCED TAPE)
1. SCOPE: This description covers manually operated, hand-held tape dispensers which are used to dispense filament-reinforced pressure-sensitive adhesive tape.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
Tape dispensers shall:
2.1 Be capable of manually dispensing a single roll of tape with the following dimensions:

2.2 Have a firmly attached, corrugated, serrated, or plain blade made of spring steel. The blade shall be replaceable.
2.3 Be made of a commercially appropriate metal or plastic capable of meeting the performance requirements of this document.
2.4 Be designed so the dispenser body itself serves as a grip for hand operation.
2.5 Shall dispense tape freely without binding against any part of the dispenser body and shall cut without wrinkling or tearing unevenly.
2.6 Be marked in a legible and permanent manner with the manufacturer’s name and/or trademark.
