FILE, WORK ORGANIZER, BOOK
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description in lieu of Interim Federal Specification
UU-F-00370
This commercial item description covers book type work organizer files which are used for filing and storing papers.
Salient characteristics:
Book type work organizer files shall come in two sizes and styles as described in table I below.
The file shall open like a book, having partitions analogues to pages.
The partition material shall have a minimum thickness of 0.0085 inch and meet the requirements specified in table II.
The gusset shall be securely bonded using a durable adhesive.
The top and bottom of the gusset shall be reinforced by coated woven or latex impregnated fiber.
The cover and back of the file shall be flexible vinyl or artificial leather and shall not crack or tear with typical use or age.
The minimum thickness of the cover and back shall be 0.018 inch each.
Workmanship. Book type work organizer files shall be clean and free of dirt or grease spots, holes, tears, wrinkles, and any other defects which may affect appearance or serviceability.

The issue of TAPPI Test Methods T- 410, T- 807, T- 414, and T- 423 in effect on the date of solicitation shall be used to determine compliance with stated requirements.
Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this commercial item description and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawing, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
