COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
PERFORATOR PAPER, TWO HOLE, DESK
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description by all federal agencies.
1. Scope. This commercial item description covers perforations which are used for punching two holes simultaneously in paper.
2. Classification:
Type: I- Standard Duty
II- Heavy Duty
3. Salient Characteristics:
3.1 Perforators shall have a base, punches, dies and plates, handle, punch operating shaft (optional for standard duty, mandatory for heavy duty), springs, and an adjustable extension guide made of a commercially acceptable metal.
3.2 Perforators shall have a removable receptacle or a stationary receptacle (for collecting punched paper waste). If a stationary receptacle is used. It shall have a removable cap made of metal or plastic.
3.3 Perforators shall have a spring loaded handle and punches. Perforators shall have a paper guide attached to the base which has not less than 12.7 cm (5”) of useful length and locks into place for common paper sizes including, but not limited to 20.3 cm (8”), 20.83 cm(8.2”), 26.67 cm(10.5”) and 27.9 cm(11”).
3.3 Perforators shall be designed to the underside will provide stability and not mar the surface on which it rests. Perforators shall be finished in beige, black, or gray color, as specified in the contract or ordering document.
