COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
COPYHOLDER, TYPISTS
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description.
This description covers side reading, mechanical spacing typists copyholders.
Salient characteristics:
Materials shall be suitable for intended purpose.
Each copyholders shall consist of a base, paper support or platen, and line guide.
Copyholder shall be collapsible with a folding back brace.
Copyholders shakk be table models of sufficient weight that rest firmly on any flat surface.
The copy holder shall be provided with securely attached rubber, cork, or felt feet to prevent marring the surface on which copy holder may be placed.
The back brace may be metal or heavy gauge round or rectangular steel wire.
The back brace may be a magnetic bar or a spring loaded mechanical clamping device.
Copyholder shall be provided with a means to adjust control spacing movements of 1/5 inch between lines so that the single, double or triple spacing are multiples of 1/5 inch and are made by a single operation.
The line guide shall be as wide as the maximum width of paper for which the copyholder is designed.
Copyholders shall accommodate standard letter and legal size sheets of at least the maximum sheet size of 11-inches in width and 14-inches in length.
Copyholders shall hold one (1) to twenty-five (25) sheets.
The copyholders shall be designed and constructed for heavy duty usage and operate without requireing lubrication.
The spacing mechanism shall perform easily, smoothly, and quietly in presenting a new reading line and be selectable for either single, double, or triple spacing of the standard 1/5 inch increment.
The copyholder shall permit easy insertion of reading material and securely hold sheet(s) at the reading desired position.
Color shall be as specified.
Painted surfaces shall be the color specified without runs, wrinkles, grit, or areas of thin film.
Each copyholder shall be marked with the manufacturer’s name or trademark in accordance with standard commercial practice.
Workmanship. The copyholders shall be free from defects or imperfections which may affect appearance or impair serviceability. The copyholders shall be devoid of sharp corners, edges, burrs, or other imperfections that may be hazardous to the user.
Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practicable.
Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling and marking. The preservation, packaging, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
